... the film Spielberg uses a woman alone in the sea and a tracking shot showing the world through the eyes of the shark to straight away build tension & fear. The reason being is because the Spielberg is trying to send a connection to the audience about how the theme tune is played whenever the shark is nearby this connection is very clever and will only be used when the shark is ready for an attack. Another technique that the director Steven Spielberg use is 'Diegetic' meaning that the character can hear it as well as the audience can too. For example in the first attack when the woman was murdered, you can hear a distinctive bell sound signifying that it's a funeral.
