This re-edited information is, for many people, their only access to significant issues that mould their outlook of the world. In recent years the role of the media has grown considerably. Since the introduction of cameras into the Commons in 1989 when Margaret Thatcher categorically stated that they would 'Damage the reputation' of the House, there has been a growing concern with the media's affect on politics.
