... this fairy tale, it is the complete opposite. When the film starts it is like traditional fairy tale, using the well known "once upon a time". Then there is a beautiful illuminated manuscript with colourful pictures and "Shrek" is reading the fairy tale slowly and calmly unexpectedly "Shrek" slams the book shut and then shouts "yeah right" also using the book as toilet roll as the "comfort zone" is broken. "Shrek" slams the door open as this, hard and rocking modern rap music enters. The viewers are surprised because they thought it was, going to be like any other fairy tale but it isn't and the beginning of the film suggests that this going to be totally different.
