The source wanted to make people think that children were happy and also to show that evacuation was very successful. I would say that the children were told to smile in the photograph because it was going to be used as propaganda. Source A seems to show that the government had managed to do what they planned and to show that everything was organised. On one hand I would say the source is reliable because it was taken at 1939 which was the time of evacuation. On the other hand I would say the evacuation was not reliable because it does not show the children's real feelings and also it might only show one happy photograph.
