Some shops are also seasonal (like tea shops), which are usually closed down for winter, although pubs are open. For stores such as kitchen shops, inhabitants are least likely to use it, however, tourists are. And the shops in Alfriston are specialised for tourists who are walking. Alfriston is also a rural place, which explains why the bus service isn't very good. Evaluation If a whole day had been spent in Alfriston, it would have been possible to have counted all the houses instead of just a few of them.
