On February 23rd 1997, Scottish scientist Dr. Wilmut announced that he and his team had successfully cloned a mammal, now known to be Dolly. This caused huge controversy as people soon realized the consequence of this. Soon with the scientific research completed, human would then be cloned. This was seen to be none ethical and immoral. The U.S president, who at the time was Bill Clinton, announced this movement to be unethical and then charged the National Bioethics Advisory Commission (NBAC) with investigating the controversy surrounding human cloning.
