Reproductive cloning would help people with some genetic diseases such as some heart conditions to have children of their own genetic offspring without taking the risk of passing on the disease to their children. This means that eventually, some diseases would be eradicated. Reproductive cloning is not allowed by the Government at the moment, but when and if it is allowed, it could help infertile couples to have children. The first cloned baby boy was reported to have been born on January 19th 2003, to a Japanese family who lost their son in an accident. This was thanks to 'Clonaid', a company which follows the beliefs of the Raelians (the Raelians believe that Jesus was resurrected due to a form of reproductive cloning.)
