This would also be the same for the children's mothers, who were playing a vital role for the government making munitions and keeping the countries war effort alive. If there children got sick they would have to take days off work to look after them, and during the day they would be constantly worried about them and would not make as many weapons and so forth. If they knew that there children would be safe away from the cities and having fun in the country then they would be generally happy, safe and healthy then they would work better, quicker and like the government more.
