An interesting way to see the Monarchy is to look at the world today. There is still a strongly defined sense of belonging to most British who or their ancestors have emigrated to other countries such as USA, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Canada and so on over last centuries. They are still aware of their identity as in British born native.
