Artificial insemination by the male partner (AIH) is a different type of infertile treatment. It's where the husband, or male partner's sperm is inserted into his wife by mechanical means. There is also artificial insemination by a donor (AID) which is the same as (AIH) but is when an anonymous man donates sperm because the male is infertile, or because there is no male partner. Patients undergoing IVF with a donated egg often have high success rates because the egg is being used from a young healthy donor.
