... Some of the methods used by psychologists to gain information can be easily criticised. The method of patient profiling is becoming more and more popular with an aim to increase understanding with regards to who uses/mis-uses the health service and why they do. However this method is splitting people into groups, i.e. good/bad patients. When splitting people like this, problems arise, what about the people that do not really fit into either group or may fit into a number of groups. Taking the example of good/bad patient, a patient may adhere to treatment on one day but not on the next, and on the day of good adherence may be flirting with staff, what group would he/she go into good or bad??
