It is although an object is placed in a babies hand their fingers will curl round thus giving the impression they are trying to hold on to the object this only lasts for a short while it usually disappears after 3 months. At this age they also show an interest in their hand movements. Newborn babies have several unintentional reflexes which help babies to survive.
