The tongue has taste receptors (chemical stimuli) and the skin has touch, pressure and temperature receptors. The nervous system consist of brain and the spinal cord, The human brain contains millions of nerve cells which are continually receiving and sending out nerve impulses. The property of the brain is that it translates electrical impulses in such away those stimuli from the environment, e.g. Sound and light are appreciated so that the recipient of the stimuli can respond and adapt to the environment in the most appropriate way. The brain also co-ordinates bodily activities to ensure efficient operation and stores information so that behaviour can be modified as a result of experience. 4.
