There are many ways in which this system could be improved. For example the writing could be done in pencil, as is done now. This would make the ledger less messy and less confusing, but it would not solve the problem of having many customers or the problem of removing customer accounts. Better than any manual system, would be a computerised method of storing the customer subscription details. This is due to the fact that a computer would be able to access a customer's details in a few seconds and it could be printed out very quickly by pressing a few buttons.
